Locking or Unlocking Domain Names in Bulk

Using the Bulk Lock / Unlock interface, Resellers can lock / unlock multiple domain names simultaneously.

Features of Domain Name Lock

  • When you place a Lock on a domain name, all actions available for domain names may still be performed by only you or ResellerCore, while the Lock is still in place.

    Types of Actions possible from the Order Details view:

    • Contact Details modification,

    • Name Servers modification,

    • Child Name Servers modification,

    • Theft Protection,

    • Suspension/Unsuspension,

    • Internal Move/Push/Transfer to another Customer Account, etc.

  • A Transfer [Away] Request for this domain name to another Registrar will fail at the Registry itself and will not be allowed (also supported by Theft Protection.)

Note

  • Bulk Lock / Unlock feature is not supported for domain names under the following extensions:

    • Due to restrictions imposed by the Registry Operator:

      • .EU

      • .UK

      • .NZ

      • .ES

    • Due to other restrictions:

      • .ME

      • .ASIA

      • .TEL

      • .CN

      • .CO

      • .WEB.IN

      • .CA

      • .DE

      • .AU

      • .RU

  • A domain name Locked by you, can only be Unlocked by you or ResellerCore.

  • You will not be able to Unlock a domain name locked by ResellerCore.

  • A Customer can not Unlock a domain name under any circumstance.

  • It is advised that you lock a domain name only in case of some payment-related issue with your Customer or if the domain name is for your own use. Otherwise, enabling Theft Protection would suffice.

To Lock / Unlock Domain Names in Bulk

  1. Login to your Control Panel. 1

  2. In the Menu, point to Products -> Domain Registration -> Bulk Actions and then click Bulk Lock/Unlock.

  3. Mention the following details and click either Lock Orders or Unlock Orders as per the task at hand:

    • Lock/Unlock Orders By: Select either Order Id, Domain Name, Reseller Id or Customer Id. Selecting Reseller Id or Customer Id allows you to Lock/Unlock all domain names under the specified Sub-Reseller(s)/Customer(s).

    • Ids/Domain Names: Depending upon your choice in the above selection, you need to specify their details here.

    • Reason for Order Locking: You should specify the exact reason due to which you are locking these Orders, so that the Sub-Reseller/Customer may view the same from their Control Panel. The reason is visible to only your immediate Sub-Reseller/Customer.

    • Remove all Locks set by Sub-Resellers: Select this checkbox if while Unlocking domain names, you also wish to remove any/all Lock(s) placed by your Sub-Resellers on these domain names.

Note

At any point of time, you can add upto 2 (two) Bulk actions/requests. This implies that you would not be able to add another Bulk Registration / Renewal / Transfer / Modification / Lock or Unlock / Suspend or Unsuspend / Privacy Protection action/request, if 2 (two) Bulk Actions are already running. You will encounter the below error message in case you try to do so:

Attention

You already have the maximum allowed number of Bulk Operations running. Please wait for at least one to complete before starting another.

You will be able to add another Bulk request once one of the earlier requests has been processed completely.
